Give THE GIFT OF READING AND LEARNING this Christmas
The Members of the Rural Libraries in Cajamarca, Peru have asked for the gift of Dictionaries this Christmas.
We are trying to raise enough money to buy 500 dictionaries - one for each of the Rural Libraries that we support in Peru.
For £5 you can gift a dictionary which will used by 20-40 people in one of the 500 Rural Libraries.
The Librarians of Bibliotecas Rurales Cajamarca said:
In the community, we learn from our elders and when they speak to us they explain the meaning of the words. But in a library we have books that talk about different cultures with terms that we do not know. That is when the dictionary becomes a tool that tells us the meaning of something we do not understand.
