William Walton - Façade

  • St John's Church Landsdowne Crescent London, W11 2NN UK (map)

Join us for a brilliant evening of entertainment provided by musicians from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Facade is a hugely entertaining work in which poetry by Edith Sitwell is set to music by William Walton.

This concert will also give you the opportunity to hear Strange Joy, by Edward Nesbit, which was commissioned by East London Music Group in 2015. A three movement piece, it sets poetry by East London poet Isaac Rosenberg's to music, and tells his experience of World War one.

The evening will also see the world premiere of Divertimento by Samuel Wilson as well, which consists of a series of witty and delightful miniatures
